Entering Data

 

Data can be entered or edited in Infinite Extent in a variety of units. Units are selected from Options | Units. Time and drawdown data can be entered from the keyboard or from a text file created by an electronic data logger.

 

 

Entering Data from the Keyboard

 

Data entry from the keyboard is performed from the Edit menu. The following edit menu selections allow for data entry. Units for data entry are selected from

 

Site Information -- This includes information such as titles, locations, client, well labels, and more.

 

Aquifer Parameters -- This is quantitative information about the aquifer test including distance to observation wells, well discharge rate, and aquifer thickness.

 

Partial Penetration -- Accessed from the Aquifer Parameters menu selection, this information is used for Hantush's modification of the Theis method for partial penetration.

 

Time and Drawdown -- This is the time and drawdown measurement for the test.

 

 

Entering Time and Drawdown Values from a Data Logger File

 

Time and drawdown data can be entered from a text file created by an electronic data logger. In most cases, the file does not need to be edited before loading. Headers do not need to be removed. Select File | Import to import data logger files.

 

 

Importing AQTESOLV Files

 

Infinite Extent can also read Geraghty & Miller's AQTESOLV for DOS files. Select File | Import and select AQTESOLV for DOS from the Data Logger Format box.
