Facility Data Files
ChemPoint stores all facility data in a single file with a cp4 extension. This file can only be read through ChemPoint. It can not be accessed through ODBC or any other database engine. To share data with other programs, you must use one of the export options.
The ChemPoint file includes:
- All facility data
- Sampling locations
- Sampling events
- Containers
- Analyses
- Well construction information
- Reports
Backing Up Data
ChemPoint makes it easy to back up you data regularly.
From Options | Customize, you can select backup options.
From Options | Paths, you can specify a backup directory.
From File | Backup, you can quickly backup the current database to the specified backup directory.
From File | Restore, you can quickly restore previously backed up data.
