Importing Laboratory Data

When importing data from tab-delimited text files, or from database files, you must specify how each column or field in the source file maps to each ChemPoint data field.

For relational databases (such as dBase or Access), select a field from the drop-down list. For tab-delimited text files, enter the number or letter (A, B, C, etc.) of the columns containing the corresponding value in the source file.

You can also enter a default value for the specified field. If the field does not exist in the source file or database, this default value will be assigned. You can specify a default value even if you do not specify a column for the field. Default values are always optional.
