Entering Data for the First Time
Entering Data for the First Time
Here are the steps to following when entering data for a brand new facility if you are importing your data from the laboratory:
- From Data | Edit Facility Data, enter any desired facility information such as name, address, and location.
- You may choose to use the Dates and Locations view, add each of the facility sampling locations. However, this step is optional.
- You may choose to use the Sampling Event view to create a new sampling event, and to create a container for each sample. However, this step is optional.
- After receiving your analysis results, use the Universal Importer to import the data from files provided by the laboratory.
- At this time, you can export your data to ChemStat for statistical analysis, or create reports of the data in the Report view.
Follow these steps if you are not importing your data from the laboratory:
- From Data | Edit Facility Data, enter any desired facility information such as name, address, and location.
- In the Dates and Locations view, add each of the facility sampling locations.
- In the Parameter Groups view, create groups of parameters commonly analyzed together.
- In the Sampling Event view, create a new sampling event. Enter the date and information for the event.
- Also in the Sampling Event view, drag-and-drop the desired parameters and parameter groups to the desired sampling locations. If a sample container does not exist, it will be created automatically. You can also create container manually. Now is the time to enter any preliminary container information.
- After you have received the parameter analyses from the lab, use the Post Analysis view to enter the measured analyte concentrations for each of the parameters.
- At this time, you can export your data to ChemStat for statistical analysis, or create reports of the data in the Report view.
