Introduction to Contouring

Contour Zoom Dialog

Both the background image and sampling locations can be repositioned when creating contour diagrams. Contouring in ChemPoint is implemented to make it easy to draw contour lines over a background image such as an aerial photograph of the facility. The difficulty with such a requirement is making the sampling locations on the contour overlay match their positions in the photograph. To align locations with the photographs:

  1. Move the background image so that one sampling location matches the proper position in the photograph.
  2. Move the other locations to align them with their proper positions in the photograph.

To speed drawing, repositioning the background image or sampling locations will disable contouring. To reenable contouring, select Contour | Enable Contours.

Note: When you reposition locations, the northing and easting values in the database will be recalculated and permanently changed in the database.

Repositioning the Background Image
